Product information:

Kul-Die™ for the Metal Working Industry

Kul-Die K1705 is a tungsten- based alloy designed mainly for use in die casting and extrusion die applications. This material offers several advantages over other tool materials normally used, such as H-13 tool steel:

  • Readily machined
  • Good thermal fatigue due to high thermal conductivity and low coefficient of expansion
  • Additional cooling due to high thermal conductivity
  • Low soldering and erosion due to low solubility of Kul-Die™ with metal being cast
  • No heat treatment necessary
  • Lower per piece manufacturing costs
  • Longer die life
  • Better equipment utilization
  • Fewer rejects
  • Better surface finishes on cast parts
