NEWTON, Mass., USA, May 10, 2017 – Greg Matula of H.C. Starck, was honored for his achievements in the international heat treatment industry and awarded the distinguished “Member of the Heat Treatment Forum Hall of Excellence” on April 26 at the 2017 Heat Treatment Forum & Expo in Wroclaw, Poland.
”H.C. Starck is delighted to have one of our employees receive such a prestigious award. Our participation in the Heat Treatment Forum & Expo is an indication of our commitment to service Poland and Eastern European markets,“ said Andreas Mader, President and CEO of the Fabricated Products Division. “As a global player in key markets such as aerospace, energy and medical, we offer our knowledge, technical and engineering expertise to assist our customers with their vacuum furnace needs using our superior performance metals – molybdenum, tungsten, tantalum. These refractory materials increase heating efficiency, eliminate product contamination, reduce cost of clean technology, help to optimize operating performance and prolong the furnace’s service-life thus giving our customers a competitive edge in the marketplace.”

H.C. Starck exhibited at the Heat Treatment Forum displaying its fabricated furnace products and capabilities for heat treating, including thermal modeling with CFD simulations and FEA calculations. During the technical sessions, Greg Matula discussed the “Advantage of Refractory Metals for Heat Treatment Devices” with an emphasis on H.C. Starck’s core materials – molybdenum, niobium, tantalum, tungsten and their alloys molybdenum-lanthana (MoLa), titanium-zirconium-molybdenum (TZM), molybdenum-tungsten (MoW) and molybdenum hafnium carbide (MHC). H.C. Starck supplies fabricated components including furnace racks, boats and trays, heat shields, hot zones and heating elements to OEMs, end-users, and aftermarket furnace manufacturers.

The 2017 Forum, sponsored by the Global Heat Treatment Network, gave attendees from Poland and the Central Eastern European region the opportunity to learn about the most recent heat treating trends and new furnace designs as well as network with some of the leading furnace makers. H.C. Starck will exhibit at the 24th IFHTSE Congress 2017 in Nice, France, June 27-28.
