TaCORR 2014 – “Tantalum in Anti-Corrosion Applications” Symposium
TaCORR 2014 was the first technical symposium in a series dedicated to applications of tantalum in the chemical processing industry (CPI).
Eight technical experts discussed topics on Service Experience of Tantalum in Sulfuric Acid Concentration, NDE for Tantalum Welds, Tantalum vs. Silicon Carbide Heat Exchangers, Benefits of Glass Lined Steel & Tantalum, Explosion Clad, Value of ASTM Specifications, Advancements in the Design, Fabrication and Welding of Tantalum Heat Exchangers, and Ultra 76 Plus – a new tantalum alloy with improved corrosion resistance.
We were pleased to have representatives from 26 companies covering the entire CPI supply-chain spectrum: end-users, engineering, fabricators and suppliers attend the symposium. The attendee's feedback was overwhelmingly positive; the event was a great opportunity for networking as well as a technical and personal development forum. Many attendees suggested topics of interest to be approached and discussed in future events.
We believe that TaCORR 2014 represents a successful first step towards our expressed goal of developing a global community of technical experts with common interest in tantalum for combating corrosion and we thank all presenters and attendees for being a part of this event.
Plan to attend the next TaCORR symposium - the venue and timing will be announced at a later time.
Details regarding the TaCORR 2014 symposium speakers and topics are outlined under Program.
